We believe that God wonderfully creates each of us as male or female, and that our gender is established at conception and is unchangeable.  Male and female compliment each other, and we each reflect the image of God and his nature, Genesis 1:26-27.  If we reject our biological gender, we reject the image of God within us.

We believe that marriage has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, monogamous union, as shown in Scripture, Genesis 2:18-25. We believe that God wants sexual intimacy to be experienced only between a man and a woman who are married to each other 1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5, Hebrews 13:4. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality, including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography is sinful and offensive to God, Matthew 15:18-20, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the Rolla church of Christ as the local body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the Rolla church of Christ members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by the Rolla church of Christ in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality, Matthew 5:16, Philippians 2:14-16, 1 Thessalonians 5:22.

We believe that God offers redemption, healing, and restoration to all who hear God's Word, believe in God and Jesus Christ as his one and only son, repent of their sins, publicly confess Jesus Christ as God's son, are baptized by immersion in water, and continue to follow the teachings of the New Testament in their walk with God, Romans 10:14, 17, John 8:24, 1 John 5:13, Luke 13:3, Romans 8:13, Romans 10:9-10, Matthew 10:32-33, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, Romans 6:4, Matthew 28:18-20, 1 John 1:6-7, 1 John 2:6, 3 John 4. 

We believe the good news of grace through faith in Jesus Christ is for everyone, but we are all expected to be continually transformed into the likeness of Jesus, leaving our old sinful lives behind us, Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 3:18, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Romans 6:1-4, Ephesians 4:17-24.

We believe that everyone must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity, Mark 12:28-31, Luke 6:31. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be renounced, are not appropriate, and are not in accord with Scripture nor the teachings of the Rolla church of Christ.
